Zindagi ka maqsad Hazrat Ali (A.S) ne bohot hi khoobsurat aur gehri soch ke sath bayan farmaya hai. Unke kuch mashhoor aur hikmat se bharpoor farman zindagi ke asal maqsad ko samajhne mein madad detay hain:  --- 1."Insaan ki sab se badi pehchan uska amal hai, na ke uska naam." —  2. "Zindagi ka maqsad Allah ki raza hai, na ke duniya ki raza." 3. "Aqalmand woh hai jo apni zindagi ka hisaab karta hai aur aakhirat ke liye kaam karta hai."   4. "Tum is duniya ke liye is tarah kaam karo jaise tum hamesha zinda rahoge, aur aakhirat ke liye is tarah kaam karo jaise tum kal marne wale ho." — Hazrat Ali (A.S)  5. "Zindagi do din ki hai, aik din tumhare haq mein aur aik tumhare khilaf. Jab haq mein ho to ghamand na karo, aur jab khilaf ho to sabr karo."  6. "Aqalmand wo hai jo apne nafs ka muhasiba karta hai aur maut se pehle maut ki tayari karta hai."
